Then there is the AA rechargeable cell with the built in USB port charger.

http://www.usbcell.com/   They are only 1300 mAH capacity,

More than a bit expensive at about $17 per pair and less than half of the capacity of a regular AA NiMH cell at 2700 mAH going for about $3 per pair, no charger.
